Graduate Women in Biology at USC

Come to our next meeting 2/20/08: How to get funded

Welcome to GWIB! We are an officially recognized USC student group operating within the Department of Biological Sciences.

We provide networking opportunities, a forum for information exchange, and aid in the career development of female graduate students in the Biological Sciences at the University Park Campus, including Molecular and Computational Biology, Marine Biology and Neurobiology, and integrative biology. Graduate women from other biology-related units are also welcome.

We welcome more senior female scientists including postdoctoral fellows and faculty . We encourage female undergraduate students majoring in biology to pursue graduate studies in the field by providing mentoring opportunities with our group, drop-in tutoring before exams, and by promoting a research day.

You can join us by coming to our next scheduled meeting, or contacting one of the officers below.

Membership & Organization

Membership is open to women PhD students, postdocs and faculty in all biology-related subjects at UPC, and in PIBBS and affiliated programs in the School of Medicine and Cancer Center.

Sponsors: GWIB is an official university student organization, and has funding support from WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) and from the USC College's Graduate Professionalism Initiative.
